How to switch arrows in elden ring

If this is the case it would seem it must be done manually. Not sure if this is a bug or not because when you 2 hand it all you have to do is hold shift. The weapon seems to be required to be 2 handed to use the alternate ammo. I was just trying to figure this out too and saw your question and just quickly tested it..
